Equality and Diversity

If you would like any more information on the things on this page, please e-mail the Equalities Team or call them on 0121 502 7400.

The role of the Connexions Black Country Equalities team is to make sure that all young people in the Black Country can use our services. To do this, we aim to make sure that Connexions Black Country is working with all young people between the age 13-19 in schools and colleges, young people excluded from school, young asylum seekers and refugees, travelling young people, black and minority ethnic young people, lesbian, gay and bisexual young people, and young people with learning difficulties and or disabilities.

Connexions Black Country is committed to promoting equality of opportunity and to taking positive steps to tackle discrimination.

In practice this means we will tackle any discrimination on the grounds of actual or perceived colour, race, nationality, ethnic origin, gender, age, sexuality, impairment, living with HIV, disability, learning difficulties, mental health, religious beliefs or on any grounds whatsoever.

Our aim is to make sure that equality and diversity is a part of how we plan, develop and deliver our services and employment policies.

We will continuously improve our links with other local organisations to help us understand and meet the needs of all young people.

Black Country Connexions has an Equality and Diversity Strategy.

Black Country Connexions has a Race Equality Scheme, and is working towards developing its Disability Equality Scheme, and both of these schemes shall contribute along with other schemes to the development of the Corporate Equalities Scheme.
