The IYP Team

There are six people in the Involving Young People (IYP) Team. Everyone in the team is aged 16 to 19 (except the Team Leader).

They are:

Kim - Lead Youth Involvement Support Worker
Nathan, Carla, Karl, Paul, Ashley and Emma - Youth Involvement Support Workers

The IYP Team makes sure that Connexions Black Country is giving young people the chance to have a say in Connexions.

The kind of things we work on include:

• Making sure that the opinions of young people are heard at Connexions' Board and management meetings
• Supporting the Connexions Black Country Youth Forum
• Giving young people the chance to get involved in our work at local events
• Linking Connexions to other local youth forums, projects and councils
• Supporting young people in need to get help from Connexions
• Working on the design and delivery of services and helping Connexions teams to involve young people in their work
• Providing role models for other young people
• Working with the Learning and Development Team to give training to young people, staff and partner organisations
• Helping to recruit and select new Connexions staff

The IYP Team is committed to involving young people right across Connexions. It is our aim to make sure that we give young people the chance to work with Connexions and make sure that the service meets the needs of all 13-19 year olds.
