The Youth Charter
The Youth Charter is under review during 2006. For more information, or to get involved with the review, call Involving Young People Co-ordinator Trevor Carthy on 07834 499 404. You can also ask your Personal
Adviser or call into your local Connexions centre.
The Connexions Black Country Youth Charter has been put together by the Youth Forum. They worked with young people from across the Black Country to find out what they need from Connexions.
The Youth Charter states what young people can expect from the service:
Connexions should:
- Provide a service that is built on trust
- Respect the views of young people
- Keep information confidential, unless it has to be passed on for the safety of young people
- Involve young people in shaping the service
- Offer young people training opportunities
- Employ a mix of staff so that Connexions reflects the community it serves
- Be non-judgemental
- Provide opportunities for young people aged 13 - 25 to voice their opinions on issues that affect them
