If we don't, the consequences might be very bad. Every one of us can make simple steps to make our lifestyles more sustainable - where we shop, what we buy, who we choose to supply energy to our homes, and what sort of vehicles we drive are just some of the things to think about. These issues are looked at in more depth on disposable planet. Resources and LinksPeople and PlanetPeople and planet is a student network that is campaigning to reduce world poverty, defend human rights and protect the environment. There are more than 200 university, college and sixth form groups throughout the UK involved with various fair trade and sustainability projects. They also have individual campaigners. They also have an ethical careers service, which is aimed at finding you a socially and ethically responsible career. Centre for Alternative TechnologyThe Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT) is an environmental charity based in mid-Wales. It has working examples of renewable energy technology on its large site and visitor centre, as well as examples of sustainable buildings and life styles. They have a great shop with lots of information, books and gadgets, which is also available on-line. CAT also does training courses and educational visits, and has self-sufficient accommodation for groups.
